Monthly

May 2025

Sometimes the best message is the simple one.

This month’s Perspectives Monthly is focused on the principle of simple good. Not simplistic. Not watered down. Just clear, useful, and human.

You won’t find images here. No animations. No links to chase. Our new CMS (Payload) isn’t wired up for those things yet. Maybe that’s a feature, not a bug.

So, here’s something simple and good:

Simple is what remains after complexity has been fully explored and thoughtfully resolved.

This line lives inside the Better Practice Framework, and it keeps proving its worth. When decisions feel cloudy, or the work starts to sprawl, the principle offers a compass.

It reminds us:

  • Simplicity isn’t what you start with. It’s what you arrive at when you’ve done the thinking.
  • The best tools often look obvious after they’ve been crafted well.
  • Simple doesn’t mean “easy.” It means “focused.”

Whether you’re designing a product, writing an email, or running a meeting this week, try this:

What’s the most generous version of simple you can offer?

Not rushed. Not minimal for the sake of minimal. Just… less noise.

See you next month.
